Anticipating my visit to Cotswolds and Highgrove House

by Bronwyn

I’m getting all set for my trip to the UK, and I’m absolutely thrilled about the idea of exploring the charming Cotswolds and the famous Highgrove House. The Cotswolds has everything I adore – rolling hills, quaint villages, and stunning countryside. The beautiful honey-colored stone cottages, medieval churches, and adorable tea rooms make it an absolutely picturesque place to visit. The architecture of the villages, with its traditional Cotswold stone, gabled roofs, and mullioned windows, adds to the enchanting atmosphere of this lovely region.

I can hardly wait to visit Highgrove House, the private residence of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. It’s nestled in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside and is renowned for its ties to the royal family. The gardens there are truly spectacular, and they reflect the King’s passion for organic farming and sustainable gardening.

During my garden tour, I’ll have the pleasure of exploring some of the most stunning and meticulously designed areas of the estate. I’m particularly excited about seeing the wildflower meadow, a vibrant tapestry of native flowers and grasses that provide a sanctuary for wildlife, and the formal gardens, which showcase a beautiful mix of traditional and contemporary design elements. The Stumpery, with its whimsical arrangement of tree stumps and ferns, promises to be a fascinating and unique highlight.

I’m also looking forward to strolling through the aromatic Thyme Walk and the tranquil Sundial Garden, which is adorned with lovely sculptures and water features. I’m also eager to explore the walled kitchen garden, filled with organically grown vegetables, fruits, and herbs, highlighting the estate’s dedication to sustainability.

I’m counting down the days until my grand tour! I simply can’t contain my excitement for the chance to experience the beauty and serenity of the gardens at Highgrove House. This experience is sure to be an unforgettable and inspiring part of my journey through the Cotswolds and beyond!
